I-08 Senior Physicians Group (SPG) Highlights
The AMA Senior Physicians Group sponsored its first meeting of state liaisons on Friday, led by the SPG Chair, William Jacott, MD. On Saturday, the group held a caucus entitled âSenior Physicians Retirement Challengesâ, spotlighting two former AMA presidents Nancy Dickey, MD, and Alan Nelson, MD, along with SPG Governing Council Vice-Chair John Knote. This year, more than 50 senior physicians attended the event that included current HOD Members and OMSS staff.
In the Seniors Governing Council Meeting, the group discussed working to expand its outreach to senior physicians 65 years of age and older, through involvement and communications. Also, key HOD reports and resolutions were discussed, to formalize AMA policy for senior physicians.
