- The AMA's annual book State Medical Licensure Requirements and Statistics includes a table on re-entry regulations of state medical boards and on noneducational temporary or limited licenses.
- Article, Medical Licensure: State Lines Pose Daunting Barriers (American Medical News) Medical boards have taken steps to expedite their medical licensing processes to make it easier for physicians seeking licenses in multiple states. The American Medical Association supports standardization of licensure requirements, greater reciprocity among states and reduced licensing burdens on physicians.
