Awards, Grants and Opportunities
The AMA-RFS and AMA Foundation offer grants to help fund projects and activities that better our communities, promote leadership development and reinforce AMA policy.
Discovery Channel Elective
Deadline: March 15, 2010 (Summer Rotation)
Elective rotation (4-6 weeks). During the rotation, one AMA medical student and one AMA resident/fellow will work closely with all members of the Discovery Channel CME team to develop a medical education program that will air on the network and be viewed by over 2 million people.
Paul Ambrose Award
Nominations are being accepted for the Paul Ambrose Award for Leadership Among Resident Physicians.

Jordan Fieldman MD Award
Recognizes residents and fellows interested and active in advocacy issues.

RFS Legislative Awareness Internship Program
Two residents/fellows are selected for a two-week internship in AMA's Washington, DC office ($1,000 stipend)

RFS Policy Promotion Grant
Grants of $250-$500 awarded to residents and fellows who develop projects that further AMA Policy.

RFS Recognition of Excellence Award
Recognizes an individual or group who has made a significant impact on the lives or image of resident/fellow physicians

AMA Foundation Seed Grant Research Program
Residents and medical students are awarded grants of $1,500 to $2,500 to conduct small projects in applied and clinical research.

AMA Foundation Leadership Award
15 resident and fellow leaders in medicine are selected to attend a leadership program in Washington DC.
Deadline: November 18
AMA Doctors Back to School program
Physicians and medical students visit schools and community organizations across the country to encourage children from underrepresented minority groups to consider a career in medicine.
AMA-WPC Physician Mentor Recognition Program
The AMA-WPC invites you to nominate a physician who has made a difference in your professional lives.
AMPAC Campaign School
This multi-day school provides physicians with an understanding of how campaigns function and decisions are made.
