2009 AMA-MSS Interim Meeting
The 2009 AMA-MSS Interim Meeting will be held Nov. 5-7, 2009, at the Hilton Americas-Houston hotel in Houston, Texas.
Scheduled events include:
- Three days of educational programs on a wide range of topics
- Keynote address: Catherine DeAngelis, MD, MPH, Editor of the Journal of the American Medical Association, will speak on "Conflicts of Interest in Medicine."
- Policy-making sessions
- Seventh Annual AMA-MSS/RFS Joint Research Poster Symposium
- AMA-MSS Governing Council and AMA Board of Trustees elections
- AMA-MSS National Service Project event
- Health system reform update: A bi-partisan discussion

Assembly Meeting Handbook
The Assembly Meeting eHandbook is now available for download. Please download the eHandbook prior to the Meeting, as only limited copies with pared-down content will be available on-site.
Registration
The online registration deadline has passed, but you can still register for free on-site at the meeting. Please refer to the meeting agenda for on-site registration details.
Note: Separate reservations are required for the following events:
- MSS Leadership School (RSVP to mss@ama-assn.org)
- National Service Project event
- Joint Sections and Special Groups Program on Health System Reform.
The deadline to RSVP for any of these events is Friday, Oct. 30.
MSS Online Reference Committee
The MSS Online Ref Com Forum is now open. All AMA-MSS members are encouraged to submit Reference Committee testimony online in advance of the traditional Ref Com hearing at the meeting. Testimony submitted online by Friday, Oct. 30, will be considered alongside testimony heard in person as the MSS Reference Committee makes its recommendations to the Assembly.
- If you registered for the meeting, you already have access to the MSS Online Ref Com Forum on Central Desktop and should have received an e-mail on Oct. 15 with log-in instructions.
- If you’re not registered for the meeting but would still like to submit testimony, please register for the MSS Discussion Forum to receive access to the Online Ref Com forum.
Meeting Agenda
New for I-09, the meeting agenda can be imported into your Google calendar or into any application that supports the iCalendar format (e.g., Apple iCal, MS Outlook 2007).
