2009 AMA-MSS Interim Meeting

LGBT Medical Education Assessment Launched
If you are an MD or DO student, your opinion is being sought about your education! All medical students are asked to complete a survey asking what they have learned, and what they think they should learn, about lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) health and medical care. The LGBT-MEA is a medical education assessment by the LGBT Medical Education Research Group (LGBT MERG), a partnership of faculty and student researchers at Stanford University School of Medicine and Harvard Medical School. All students’ opinions are needed, and will be collected anonymously, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or subject knowledge.
Tune in to Radio Rounds
Radio Rounds, the first medical radio talk show in the country produced entirely by medical students, began its second season on August 9. The show is hosted by AMA student members from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio. Visit www.radiorounds.blogspot.com for listening options and a list of past and upcoming guest speakers. All past episodes are available as free podcast downloads on Apple iTunes by searching for "Radio Rounds."
AMA-MSS Governing Council 2009-2010 Goals
Last month's inaugural meeting of the 2009-2010 AMA-MSS Governing Council (GC) included a strategic goal-setting session during which the GC determined the Section’s agenda and prioritized its goals for the year. Visit the GC Goals page to read more about the goals set for the coming year.
