Coalitions and Consortia
The AMA is dedicated to helping doctors help patients—but we can’t do it alone. To that end, the AMA has convened a number of influential coalitions and consortia that bring together a varied group of experts committed to help solve medicine’s most pressing challenges.
In the area of patient safety, the AMA–convened Physician Consortium for Performance Improvement® is enhancing quality of care and patient safety by taking the lead in the development, testing and maintenance of evidence-based clinical performance measures and measurement resources for physicians.
Physicians can count on The Litigation Center of the American Medical Association and State Medical Societiesto make sure physicians’ rights and autonomy are upheld. As the voice of America’s medical profession in legal proceedings across the country, the AMA legal team works with state medical societies and provides physicians with legal assistance and expertise.
The AMA also collaborates with various medical science organizations, such as the United States Adopted Names Council, which creates naming guidelines for drugs.
