About the CSAPH/CSA reports
Council reports are an essential component of the American Medical Association's mission of helping doctors help patients by promoting the science of medicine and the betterment of public health, and are a fundamental part of the Council's role in recommending health policy for the Association. Council reports are prepared by the staff of the AMA Group on Science, Medicine, and Public Health, the AMA Group on Clinical Quality and Patient Safety, and the Council members, and are reviewed by authorities in appropriate public health, medical, or other scientific fields. Recommendations of the Council become official AMA policy or directives when they are approved by the AMA House of Delegates at the AMA's Annual or Interim meetings.
