Rose Doherty, CPA
Rose is a partner at Chicago-based accounting firm Legacy Professionals and is head of the company’s Not-For-Profit practice group. She is a frequent speaker and author on non-profit topics including recent presentations on “Understanding the New and Updated IRS Forms 990-N and 990”, “Finance and Audit Committee Responsibilities”, and "Fraud Prevention". She has presented at Association Forum’s Holiday Showcase, Illinois CPA Society workshops, and other client conferences. Rose is the editor of Legacy Advisor, Not-For-Profit Organizations, Legacy’s quarterly publication for non-profits. Additionally, Rose provides board training to a number of her clients.
Rose is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is also a member of the Illinois CPA Society and its Nonprofit Organizations Committee and the Chairperson of the newly formed Nonprofit Member Forum.
Rose is a member of the ICPAS Legislative Contact Program where she serves as the liaison to three state representatives. Rose is active in Association Forum of Chicagoland, serving on Forum’s Content Committee. She has also spoken at Forum’s Annual Meeting and Educational portion of Holiday Showcase.
She serves on the Board of Directors of the Irish Fellowship Club of Chicago and recently served as Chairperson for the Christmas Luncheon. She is a Past President of the Lupus Foundation of Illinois. Rose is an Appointed Member of the Leadership Council of Community Health Charities. She is also an Appointed Member of the Illinois Attorney General's Charitable Advisory Council.
Rose holds a B.S. in Accounting from DePaul University and an M.B.A. in Finance from Rosary College (now known as Dominican University).
In her spare time, she enjoys running, competing in triathlons and duathlons, traveling, and spending time with her husband and their two teenage children.
