Rose Doherty is a partner at Chicago-based accounting firm Legacy Professionals LLP and is head of the Firm's Not-For-Profit practice group. She is a frequent speaker and author on non-profit topics; recent presentations include Ask the Experts at the Illinois CPA Society Not-for-Profit Conference, Fraud Prevention, Internal Controls, UPMIFA, and Finance and Audit Committee Responsibilities. She has presented at Association Forum's Holiday Showcase, Illinois CPA Society workshops, and other client conferences. Rose is the editor of Legacy Advisor, Not-For-Profit Organizations, Legacy's publication for non-profits. Additionally, Rose provides board training to a number of her clients.
Rose serves on the Illinois CPA Society's Board of Directors. She is also a recipient of the Society's Distinguished Service Award for her significant contributions to the Society's Not-For-Profit Committee.
Rose is a member of the ICPAS Legislative Contact Program, where she serves as the liaison to a state representative. Rose is active in the Association Forum of Chicagoland and is a past member of the Professional Practices Committee. She has also spoken at the Forum's Annual Meeting and the Educational portion of their Holiday Showcase.
Rose serves as Vice President of the Irish Fellowship Club of Chicago. She is a Past President of the Lupus Foundation of Illinois. She is also an Appointed Member of the Illinois Attorney General's Charitable Advisory Council.
Rose holds a B.S. in Accounting from DePaul University and an M.B.A. in Finance from Rosary College (now known as Dominican University).
Rose and her husband have two adult children.
