Edmond B. Cabbabe, MD, FACS

Edmond B. Cabbabe, MD, FACS is a board certified plastic surgeon in private group practice in St Louis, Mo. He is a clinical professor of surgery at St. Louis University and former chief of plastic surgery at De Paul Health Center, St. Anthony's Medical Center, and John Cochran VA Hospital.

Dr. Cabbabe's many leadership positions include presidency of the St. Louis Metropolitan Medical Society, Missouri State Medical Association, National Arab American Medical Association, St. Louis Area Society of Plastic Surgeons and Missouri Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. He also served as president of the National Arab American Medical Association Foundation, Missouri Physician Health Foundation and Missouri Health Education Foundation.

He is currently the Vice Chair for the Center for Patient Safety, a PSO, and a board member of both the Missouri State Medical Foundation and the Missouri State Medical Association Insurance Agency, where he served as president from 2010-12.

His AMA involvement includes serving on the Governing Council of the International Medical

Graduates as an alternate delegate and vice chair. He currently chairs the Heart of America Caucus in the AMA House of Delegates.

Dr. Cabbabe is an avid writer, with more than 130 articles to his credit in both English and Arabic. He served as editor for St. Louis Metropolitan Medicine, receiving 2 journalistic awards during his tenure. He is a current or past reviewer for several specialty journals, an invited reviewer for Hand, and  on the editorial board of Plastic and Aesthetic Research, Missouri Medicine, and Al-Hakeem.

His public service involvements include providing pro bono removal of gang related tattoos to rehabilitate former gang members, treatment of children referred by the Palestine Children Relief Fund and the Caring Program for Children.

Dr. Cabbabe has received numerous awards and honors including the AMAF leadership award, the AMA Membership Outreach recruitment Award, Missouri State Medical Association Citizenship and Community Service Award, the Certificate of Special Recognition for Community Service and Volunteerism Award by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and "The World of Children" award from Progressive Youth Organization. He is a commissioned Colonel of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and "The Doctor Who Goes the Extra Mile" award recipient of Medical Economics.

Dr. Cabbabe's wife Rima, a pharmacist, is a past president of the St Louis Metropolitan Medical Association Alliance and the National Arab American Medical Association Auxiliary. They have 3 children and seven grandchildren.
