Edmond B. Cabbabe, MD, FACS
Edmond B. Cabbabe, MD, FACS, is a board certified plastic surgeon in private group practice in St Louis, Missouri. Dr Cabbabe is President of Cabbabe Plastic Surgery, Inc. and Plastic Surgery Consultants Ltd. He is currently a Clinical Professor of Surgery at St. Louis University and the Chief of plastic surgery at DePaul Health Center and St. Anthony’s Medical Center in Chicago.
Dr. Cabbabe has held many leadership positions including Presidency of the St. Louis Metropolitan Medical Society, the Missouri State Medial Association, the National Arab American Medical Association, the St. Louis Area Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Missouri Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. He also served as Chairman of the National Arab American Medical Association Foundation, the Missouri Physician Health Foundation and the Missouri Health Education Foundation. He is currently a Board member of the Missouri State Medical Foundation, the Missouri Center for Patient Safety, the Syrian American Cultural Council, and President of the Missouri State Medical Association Insurance Agency.
His AMA involvement included serving on the Governing Council of the International Medical Graduates as an alternate delegate and vice chair. He is currently involved with the AMAas the chair of Missouri's delegation in the House Of Delegates.
Dr. Cabbabe is an avid writer. He has to his credit over 110 articles in English and Arabic. He served as editor for the St. Louis Metropolitan Medicine, a monthly magazine, receiving two journalistic awards during his tenure. He is a current and past reviewer for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Hand, Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic, Archives of Surgery, and Clinical Anatomy and on the editorial board of Missouri Medicine and Al-Hakeem.
His public service involvement includes providing pro bono removal of gang related tattoos to rehabilitate former gang members, treatment of children referred by the Palestine Children Relief Fund and the Caring Program for Children.
Dr. Cabbabe has received numerous awards and honors including the AMA Foundation leadership award, the AMA Membership Outreach recruitment Award, the Missouri State Medial Association Citizenship and Community Service Award, the Certificate of Special Recognition for Community Service and Volunteerism Award by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and The World of Children award from Progressive Youth Organization. He is a commissioned Colonel of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and “The Doctor Who Goes the Extra Mile” award recipient of Medical Economics.
Dr. Cabbabe’s wife, Rima, a pharmacist, is a past president of the St. Louis Metropolitan Medical Association Alliance and the National Arab American Medical Association Auxiliary. They have three children and four grandchildren.
