AMA Foundation Partnerships
Through partnerships with the AMA, AMA Alliance, AMA sections and special groups and other organizations, the AMA Foundation works to improve the health of our nation 's communities and strengthen the patient-physician relationship with its better health initiatives. Here are some of the organizations and groups with which the AMA Foundation partners to provide meaningful programs in public health, research, and medical education.
American Medical Association (AMA) Alliance – The AMA Alliance has been a powerful partner with the AMA Foundation since 1952. The Alliance raises nearly $350,000 a year for the Foundation to provide medical school scholarships to students and to support the Foundation 's programs in public health.
Audio-Digest Foundation – The Audio-Digest Foundation funds an annual $10,000 AMA Foundation Physicians of Tomorrow Scholarship, supporting a rising fourth-year medical student who displays a commitment to the “communication of science”.
International Museum of Surgical Science – The AMA Foundation supports several educational exhibits at the International Museum of Surgical Science.

The AMA Foundation works with many different AMA departments to further its charitable purpose of advancing the healthcare of America.
House of Delegates (HOD) – The AMA HOD and AMA Foundation work together to grant worthy physicians the AMA Foundation Award for Health Education and the Isaac Hays, MD and John Bell, MD Award for Leadership in Medical Ethics and Professionalism.
Minority Affairs Consortium (MAC) – The MAC works with the AMA Foundation to provide scholarships to medical students from underrepresented groups in the medical profession through the Minority Scholars Award program.
Public Health Department - Over the past decade, the AMA Public Health department has collaborated closely with the AMA Foundation to develop valuable and effective health literacy and patient safety resources.
Women Physicians Congress (WPC) – The AMA-WPC works to advance the understanding of women’s health issues while increasing the number, voice and influence of women physicians. The AMA Foundation partners with the AMA-WPC on the Joan F. Giambalvo Memorial Scholarship, which provides a research scholarship to advance the progress of women in the medical profession.
