The AMA Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the American Medical Association.
Founded in 1950, the AMA Foundation advances public health and medical scholarship through philanthropic support of physician-directed initiatives. Our vision is to be the center of philanthropic activity that enables the medical community to help people lead healthier lives.
The AMA Foundation successfully completed its Strategic Plan which guided the Foundation’s programmatic goals and expansion efforts through December 31, 2014. The Strategic Plan focused on four core strategies, which illustrate the AMA Foundation’s top priorities:
- Expanding Our Public Health Programming
- Collaborating With the Medical Community
- Broadening Our Donor Base
- Increasing Understanding of Our Mission
A new 3-year strategic plan is being developed. It's anticipated the new plan will be approved and implemented in early 2016.
