Physicians come to Washington to meet with Congress

WHAT: National Advocacy Conference

The AMA’s Seventh Annual National Advocacy Conference (NAC) will focus on its legislative health care agenda for the 111th Congress. Featured speakers include: Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA), Rep. Roy Blunt (R-MO), and Ezekiel J. Emanuel, M.D., Special Advisor for Health Care, White House Office of Management and Budget.

Physicians will meet with members of Congress to discuss need for health system reform, including Medicare physician payment reform.

Note: AMA Medical Student, Resident & Fellow Lobby Day is Monday, March 9. Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) will address students at 10 AM in the Grand Ballroom of L’Enfant Plaza Hotel, after which, students will go to Capitol Hill to meet with their members of Congress.
