Your AMA-IMG Section is offering a new venue for AMA-IMG members to be actively involved with the AMA-IMG Section by joining one of the AMA-IMG Section committees. AMA-IMG Section members should carefully look at the listing of committees below and send an e-mail to Carolyn Carter-Ellis indicating your interest. You will then receive a confirmation e-mail along with conference call scheduling information. We encourage you to take part in these committees and make your voice heard.

  1. Develop enhanced communication strategies with the AMA-IMG membership in the country.

Advocacy/Resolutions/Reports

  1. Solicit, develop and propose resolutions that articulate and address issues of importance specifically to the IMGs as well relate to the AMA Advocacy Agenda during Interim Meetings.
  2. Solicit, develop and propose resolutions that articulate and address issues of importance to broader AMA constituency.
  3. Develop key relationships and collaboration with the IMG Delegate and Alternate Delegate, AMA Reference Committees, Standing Committees and the BOT of the AMA, to facilitate the process of successful passage of the AMA-IMG resolutions.

Leadership Development

  1. Create a comprehensive program of AMA-IMG leadership development
  2. Forge relationships with national IMG leaders who can serve as mentors for future AMA-IMG leaders
  3. Develop educational or other mentoring programs that would encourage and help IMGs in hospital medical staff, county and state medical society leadership
  4. Identify nominees for the AMA Foundation Leadership Awards
  5. Develop a plan to select and honor national IMG leaders

Commission to End Healthcare Disparities
