Capital Blue Cross settlement information

The Capital Settlement became effective May 30, 2008.  This settlement covers Capital BlueCross, Capital Advantage Insurance Company and Keystone Health Plan Central Inc. (Capital). The Capital checks were distributed November 4, 2008 to physicians who submitted valid proof of claims. The Capital Settlement resulted in a payout to physicians of roughly $3.5 million.

Compliance Dispute Person (CDP)
Physicians may consider filing a “compliance dispute” if the health insurer fails to adhere to the terms of the settlement. After the dispute is deemed valid by the CDP, the CDP will act as the physician’s representative unless the physician elects to employ separate counsel.
