7) Personal Statement: I have appreciated the opportunity to serve as the Vice Chair of the WPC. As an academician, administrator, young physician, spouse of a physician, and mother, I understand well the issues of being a female physician – we have unique challenges. I became involved with organized medicine because I was frustrated with the barriers that prevented me from delivering the quality of care I wanted, and my patients deserved, because of health system issues. Organized medicine is an essential way to better health care for our patients and our families. The leadership and educational development programs and resources offered by the WPC are an important tool to help women physicians be better advocates for their profession, patients, and future female physicians. I ask for your vote, so I can continue to work to help develop WPC programs that are valuable to women physicians.
